My opinion about Mastodon
First of all, I want to say, I was never very “active” on any social media platform ever.
Facebook was always weird for me. I didn’t want to post publicly, I was too shy, too consciously overthinking, too much preferring privacy. Publicly doing anything is stressing me out, no matter if it’s on the internet or in real life I guess haha. Well anyways, maybe 10 years ago facebook was a way for me to stay in contact with some people from school etc., sending messages maybe. But that’s so over now. I finally deleted facebook some months ago.
Instagram: I tried not to have it, I got it, got addicted. I still use it way too much, but I don’t consider it as a social act. I never post, I never interact. I just watch and read things. (Ok, sending reels to friends might be somehow social…)
Now Mastodon: I want to keep it short: I like it a lot! I actually interact with strangers in the internet!! Finally! Look at me, Mama! Are you proud?! After overcoming my shyness and confusion about how it works, I really like using it now. It helps, too, that it's so text-based. It’s entertaining and I feel like good things are happening there. There are some smart, artistic, good people out there :)
