Movie *Love Lies Bleeding*
I watched Love Lies Bleeding yesterday and I really enjoyed it. It felt like a proper movie, I felt like being carried into a story bubble with rememberable characters and nothing irrelevant to be distracted by. It felt consistent and the mood was set well.
Is it a masterpiece? I wouldn't say that. But I had a lot of fun watching it! I think it helps to not take the movie too seriously.
It had surprising and artistic elements I specifically enjoyed. This movie is not for everyone, the title is a good indicator for what you get yourself into and if you are up for this. The vibe that came to my mind was tarantino-esk movie for lesbians. For a movie with a sapphic romance story at its core it was especially refreshing to watch, because the genre was so different than what I am used to. I don’t remember any movie that I could compare it with.
And I mean it as a compliment and as a complaint:
I want more lesbian movies!
